The USU Department of Theatre Arts maintains that comprehensive understanding across all theatre disciplines is essential for aspiring artists and educators to thrive professionally. Our program focuses on equipping students with fundamental skills through diverse coursework and hands-on learning opportunities, while also offering specialized training in chosen concentrations. Students engage with various aspects of theatre including production design, technical operations, performance, and teaching methodologies. Personalized mentorship ensures every participant in our program receives the guidance necessary for artistic development. Theatre arts majors can pursue either a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) - which demands exceptional artistic achievement and requires application to our selective professional program - or a Bachelor of Arts (BA) that includes foreign language requirements. The BA track offers a broad theatre education within a liberal arts framework, ideal for students considering graduate studies or careers in stage direction. This four-year curriculum provides thorough preparation for diverse theatrical pathways.
