The USU Department of Theatre Arts maintains that comprehensive understanding across all theatre disciplines is essential for aspiring artists and educators to thrive professionally. Our program equips students with fundamental skills through diverse coursework and hands-on opportunities in design, technical production, performance, and teaching. We offer personalized guidance to nurture each student's artistic development. Theatre majors can pursue either a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree. The BFA, a selective professional program, demands exceptional artistic achievement, while the BA requires foreign language proficiency and offers broader liberal arts training ideal for graduate studies or stage direction careers. The BFA Acting specialization prepares future professional performers through rigorous training in acting techniques, vocal work, physical movement, and directing principles, alongside technical production knowledge.
