The guitar program provides training across multiple disciplines, where students receive private lessons, join weekly studio workshops, collaborate with visiting artists, and showcase both solo and ensemble pieces. The weekly seminar features presentations of freshly mastered solo and chamber works, alongside discussions covering interpretation, arrangement, technical skills, teaching methods, masterclass techniques, concert planning, stage performance, sight-reading, competitions, studio recording, and professional growth. Every term, participants form duos or small ensembles and present their chamber works in public performances. The musical selections are chosen jointly by the students and Professor Benjamin Verdery.

Qualification Requirements
Request recommendations from two teachers who have taught you in core academic subjects (e.g. English, Foreign Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies) who know you well, and who have seen you at your best. It is preferable, but not required, that recommendations come from teachers who have taught you during your final or next-to-final year of secondary school. Your counselor or other school official should submit a School Report with an official transcript that includes all your secondary school courses. In response to the extraordinary circumstances associated with the pandemic, Yale is temporarily suspending its requirement that first-year and transfer applicants submit results from the ACT or SAT.
