Level 21 embodies the integration of design, technology, and management within theatrical arts. It offers seven distinct but interconnected specializations: Arts Entertainment Technology, Costume Design Technology, Lighting Design Technology, Scene Design, Scenic Technology, Sound Design Technology, and Stage Management. During their first two years, students master fundamental theatrical production techniques while developing hands-on skills for higher-level coursework and stage performances. Upperclassmen engage in specialized study within their selected field, receiving personalized faculty guidance on assigned projects. Participants serve as designers, technicians, managers, craftspeople, and crew members for numerous theater, musical theater, dance, and opera productions at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, assuming various production roles throughout their academic journey.
