The Literature concentration examines diverse approaches to literary works and culturally important materials, including cinema, digital platforms, oral histories, and political texts.
The Rhetoric, Composition, and Writing Studies pathway investigates discourse creation, with emphasis on classical or modern rhetoric, college-level writing instruction and program leadership, persuasive communication and social movements, or other writing-focused disciplines.
The Public Humanities specialization, rare among English master's programs nationwide, equips you for work in nonprofit and community organizations that apply humanities knowledge to drive social change and advance public welfare.
The two-year Master of Arts in English offers concentrations in either literature or rhetoric and composition. Every admitted student receives comprehensive financial support covering tuition and providing a substantial living stipend.
