Architectural Engineers design structural and mechanical-electrical-plumbing systems for construction projects. The ABET-accredited B.S. in Architectural Engineering program prepares students for Professional Engineer licensure. Important distinction: This degree differs from Architecture.
The Architectural Engineering department consistently assesses these key student competencies. Each University of Wyoming Architectural Engineering graduate will demonstrate:
1. proficiency in recognizing, analyzing, and resolving challenging engineering issues using engineering fundamentals, scientific principles, and mathematical concepts
2. capability to implement engineering design processes that develop solutions addressing technical requirements while accounting for public safety, health considerations, and broader societal, environmental, economic, and global impacts
3. competence in clear communication across diverse professional and public audiences
