The four-year Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies (BS) program enables students to concentrate on architecture-related fields, tailor their academic journey, and obtain a pre-professional degree. Following a core curriculum of studio and technical courses during the initial two years—shared with the Bachelor of Architecture program—students may opt to transfer to the five-year architecture track, select one of three specializations (Real Estate Development, Historic Preservation, or XR Game Environments), or investigate diverse architecture disciplines through numerous minor options.
Beyond acquiring essential skills and practical experience, you can fast-track toward professional certification in our master's programs by enrolling in graduate-level coursework as an undergraduate. Engage in team-based initiatives, hands-on fieldwork, international study opportunities, and industry internships. A vast selection of elective courses allows you to design a degree program aligned with your aspirations.
Existing structures represent the most sustainable construction. Research indicates that building construction and demolition contribute to 48% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. Adapting and repurposing standing structures represents large-scale recycling, significantly cuts emissions, and serves as a vital renewable resource—eliminating the environmental impact of new construction and land consumption. This forward-thinking preservation strategy not only safeguards historical buildings but creatively transforms them, positioning architectural heritage as a blueprint for ecological sustainability.
