Animal and veterinary science is a practical degree program where you'll explore topics focused on livestock production and animal care. The curriculum covers diverse areas including animal biology, dietary needs, business strategies, food processing, biochemistry, and microbial studies, allowing you to tailor your education to your professional goals.
While you'll gain essential scientific knowledge for your career, you'll also engage in hands-on experiences like working with fistulated cattle, managing farm animals, or researching illnesses impacting Wyoming's domestic and wild animals.
The Animal and Veterinary Sciences (ANVS) program is a collaborative effort between the Animal Science Department and Veterinary Sciences Department. These departments bring together specialized faculty covering all eight focus areas.
