The Equine Science Certificate Program aims to expand career prospects in the equine field for students whose academic programs lack horse-related coursework. This initiative also enables pre-veterinary students to deepen their understanding of equine care and improve their practical horsemanship abilities. Furthermore, it offers experienced equestrians a chance to broaden their scientific knowledge of horses for personal growth.
Participants must complete at least 20 credit hours of Equine Science coursework. By choosing from approved classes, students can develop both theoretical and hands-on expertise in equine studies, regardless of their primary major. Learners may pursue this certificate alongside any degree program across Kansas State's eight colleges or focus solely on the certification. Enrollment requires formal admission to K-State for all participants.
