Offers fundamental understanding of historical and modern topics concerning sex, gender, and sexuality. Students will gain the ability to utilize intersectional feminist and gender theories across various academic disciplines and practical applications.
The Gender and Women's Studies Honors program acknowledges high-achieving undergraduates who demonstrate academic excellence and are prepared for graduate studies or careers in public/private sectors. Eligibility includes maintaining a 3.500 cumulative GPA and completing GWST 4965, the Senior Honors Project.
The GWST Honors track also mandates either three semesters of foreign/sign language study or a focus on quantitative analysis and research methodologies, including statistical training.
Participants in the UW Honors Program, McNair Scholars Program, or similar initiatives requiring independent research may align their GWST honors requirements with these programs.
