This program leads to initial teaching certification with dual qualifications in both elementary and special education. Designed to equip students for licensure as K-6 elementary teachers and K-12 special education instructors, it requires completion of at least 120 credit hours.
All core courses demand a minimum grade of C, while most upper-level education courses, including EDEL 4500 Residency in Teaching, require a 2.75 cumulative GPA from the University of Wyoming. Content area courses need a 2.50 GPA minimum, with at least 42 upper-division credits required.
Students must complete a background check before beginning field experiences or practicums. The initial background check fee is covered by student fees; consult your College of Education advisor for specific procedures.
