This accelerated pathway lets you earn both a bachelor's in any field and a master's in teaching with elementary certification (grades 1-6) within five years. Starting your graduate studies immediately after undergrad ensures seamless career progression, as most states require educators to complete a master's within their first 6-8 years of teaching.
First-year students begin with ED 140: Introduction to Public Education, a 1-credit orientation to the profession that helps shape academic planning and major selection.
Sophomore year brings two foundational courses on educational diversity and philosophy, while building connections with faculty and peers through School of Education activities. Program advisors review each student's progress at year's end to confirm continuation eligibility.
Upperclassmen complete 20-hour semester field placements in local classrooms alongside experienced teachers, while taking advanced pedagogy courses on campus. The graduate year features a full-time teaching internship supervised by both school mentors and university faculty.
