Our program aims to educate future health services researchers and equip them for leadership roles in the field. Graduates establish research careers at prestigious universities, policy organizations, healthcare institutions, and government bodies. Addressing today's complex healthcare challenges, we focus on developing scholars who enhance population health through rigorous research and its practical application. The PhD Program in Health Services maintains top-tier rankings, delivering outstanding training in research methodologies, healthcare systems, policy analysis, and social health determinants.
Through a partnership between the Departments of Health Services and Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, we provide specialized doctoral training in occupational health services research (OHSR). This curriculum combines health services research with occupational health specialization, offering students hands-on experience in outcomes research, economic assessments, epidemiological investigations, and program evaluations. Beyond academic research, participants gain practical experience through collaborations with major corporations like Microsoft, Boeing, and Weyerhaeuser. This program prepares graduates for academic appointments in public health or related disciplines, as well as leadership positions in government and private sector organizations.
