All students entering at the Master's level begin in the M.Ed. program. Those interested in pursuing either an M.A. or M.S. degree can submit an application to the graduate committee upon finishing nine credit hours of departmental coursework. While the M.A. has a foreign language requirement, the M.A. and M.S. share identical degree criteria otherwise. Both the M.A. and M.S. programs offer more flexibility in curriculum planning, featuring fewer mandatory courses and more open specialization options. These programs emphasize academic rigor and research skill development, concluding with a thesis requirement. A 3.0 GPA
Letters of recommendation from 3 people providing an evaluative judgment concerning your academic or professional work. At least 2 references should be people who have direct knowledge of your academic performance (i.e., professors).
A personal statement of professional goals: Education, Culture & Society is committed to the study and pursuit of social justice in education using frameworks and methodologies that address class race, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender in educational policies and practices.
