Our Ballet MFA program provides an opportunity to enhance your expertise in pedagogy, choreography, and historical context. The curriculum features adaptable options that equip every student with core Ballet Studies while allowing specialization.
Participants may select either a written thesis or choreographic project, with past topics ranging from developing modern ballet works and screendance productions to scholarly examinations of La Bayadère's representations, or designing choreography curricula for young students.
Faculty embrace a broad, inclusive teaching philosophy, considering ballet both as an artistic discipline and a lens for cultural, social, and historical understanding. Ideal candidates are established professionals—whether as performers, educators, arts administrators, scholars, or choreographers—seeking deeper engagement with ballet's theoretical frameworks. Priority goes to applicants who can articulate clear academic focus areas for our rigorous two-year program.
