This program offers enhanced educational and clinical training for speech-language pathologists specializing in assessing and treating Spanish-only or bilingual Spanish/English speakers with communication, voice, or swallowing disorders. Admission requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Bilingual (Spanish/English) Speech-Language Pathology include:

Enrollment as a graduate student at UTEP. The certificate is available both to current Master's in SLP students and those solely pursuing the certificate.
Applicants must submit a letter of interest to the program coordinator and clinic director during orientation, accompanied by official transcripts and documentation of relevant language and clinical background.
Course transfers will be individually reviewed for approval.
Certificate candidates must have earned a B grade or better in all prerequisite coursework.

Qualification Requirements

If you did not attend high school in the United States and your most recent institution of learning was not located in an English-speaking country, UTEP requires you to provide evidence of English-language proficiency. Minimum score 550 on the paper-based (pBT) TOEFL. Some programs require 600 or better. Minimum score of 79 on the internet-based test (iBT), and minimum of 6.5 on IELTS.
