The communication disorders and sciences (CDS) program provides graduate-level preparatory courses for individuals holding a bachelor's degree who aim to pursue advanced studies in speech-language pathology or audiology.
These CDS graduate preparation courses fulfill prerequisite requirements for admission to SLP master's programs (essential for professional entry) and eventual national certification/licensure. Students who complete these preparatory courses enhance their graduate school readiness and typically become more competitive applicants for programs nationwide. Note that completing these courses doesn't guarantee admission to the CDS master's program.
At the University of Oregon, these graduate preparation courses are available through the non-degree program, allowing students to enroll without undergoing the standard university admissions procedure. This non-degree option permits enrollment in up to 8 credits per term during academic year terms (fall, winter, spring) and up to 16 credits during summer sessions.
