The Master of Science (MS) in speech-language pathology equips future professionals with comprehensive knowledge of typical speech, language, and hearing development, along with the skills to assess and manage diverse communication disorders across all ages. This program combines rigorous academic coursework with specialized clinical training throughout different life stages. Participants will explore service provision in multiple environments, including telehealth opportunities, while acquiring hands-on experience in healthcare facilities, schools, classroom instruction, the STEPS laboratory, standardized patient interactions, and nearby clinical sites. Students may also pursue externship placements, collaborative interprofessional work, and research projects.
Both the traditional five-semester, on-campus MS program in Speech-Language Pathology and the flexible six- to ten-semester online MS program prepare graduates to effectively evaluate and address various communication disorders in patients of all ages. These programs offer valuable experiences in clinical externships, interdisciplinary collaboration, and academic research.
