The Classics Graduate Program equips students for dynamic academic careers in Classics and related disciplines. Offering intensive training in core classical scholarship, the curriculum addresses the needs of both teaching and research. Our PhD recipients are qualified to teach intermediate-level Greek and Latin, advanced courses in one language, undergraduate classical civilization classes, and graduate seminars in specialized fields.

An ever-changing selection of seminars and supplementary courses helps students build critical skills while exploring diverse classical study areas. The program provides MA and PhD degrees in Classics, with rigorous yet adaptable requirements. These ensure all students gain wide-ranging classical cultural knowledge while allowing focused research in individual areas of interest. Doctoral candidates can specialize in ancient philosophy or classical archaeology through dedicated concentration tracks.
