Nutrition is a comprehensive field of study focused on enhancing health and wellness for both individuals and communities. This discipline explores not just the functions of fundamental biological components like electrons, atoms, molecules, genes, cells, and organs in living systems, but also examines connections between life sciences and broader factors such as health outcomes, human behavior, learning, demographics, cultural influences, and economic conditions. At UT, nutrition students gain hands-on experience through classroom instruction and real-world applications. They investigate topics like dietary consumption and metabolic processes, how nutrients influence genetic activity, school-based gardening and nutrition programs, human growth patterns, and family health dynamics. Opportunities include international study programs, clinical internships, community service initiatives, and laboratory research positions. Alumni pursue diverse professional paths in scientific research, pharmaceutical and food sectors, medical services, and academic instruction.
If you are an international applicant, you must have completed an accredited secondary school series equivalent to that of a U.S. high school.
Minimum scores acceptable for admission are:
TOEFL: 79 (internet-based test)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination
