The Master of Social Work program at UTC educates students for higher-level social work careers. The curriculum trains students to deliver skilled services to clients, teams, and populations, with particular focus on assisting elderly residents across the Chattanooga area. Program alumni will qualify for social work positions across various sectors and organizations. Additionally, graduates will meet the requirements to become licensed clinical social workers. The MSW-UTC program's goal is to prepare students to address the increasing demand for skilled social work professionals who can support people, families, communities, and organizations in Southeast Tennessee throughout their lifespan. As trained professionals, graduates will possess core social work competencies along with specialized expertise in serving older populations and their relatives. Alumni will enter the workforce grounded in the ethical standards of the NASW Code of Ethics, with skills applicable across different service environments and demographic groups.
