The Warner School's Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) program equips students to become clinical leaders in behavior analysis. This rigorous curriculum readies graduates for both the national board certification exam and New York State licensure, standing as the nation's sole ABA master's program partnered with a leading medical institution.
Participants benefit from a fully integrated practicum with guidance from dually-certified behavior analysts (BCBA and NYS-licensed). The program pairs students with tailored placements across URMC's behavioral clinics and community environments including schools and early childhood intervention programs. Research pathways are also accessible for those pursuing academic inquiry or doctoral preparation.
Alumni frequently achieve board certification shortly after graduation, joining our global network of professionals making impacts across New York, nationwide, and internationally.
The program mandates at least one semester of intensive fieldwork, fulfilling BACB requirements while offering diverse placement options in school systems, non-profits, and URMC clinical settings.
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree, typically in education, psychology, or social sciences, though all passionate about behavioral science and social impact are encouraged to apply. Prospective students can consult with faculty to explore career alignment before applying.
Both program tracks incorporate required coursework plus 225+ hours of supervised ABA practice, with options to accumulate additional licensure/BCBA exam hours through independent work or repeated enrollment in our credit-bearing practicum.
