Classical Studies explores the cultures of ancient Greece and Rome, spanning from prehistoric times through the medieval era, with a focus on their literary works, philosophical traditions, and historical developments. This field incorporates economic, governmental, societal, and intellectual aspects alongside philosophy, archaeological findings, religious practices, and mythology. Learners can select a concentration involving Greek and/or Latin texts or pursue coursework without language prerequisites. The Classical Studies Department delivers comprehensive undergraduate education and advanced degrees in both Classical Studies and Ancient History. Additionally, it features a unique Post-Baccalaureate Program designed for students seeking to advance their Greek and Latin studies before qualifying for standard graduate programs.
