Nestled among three continents, the Mediterranean Sea served as a melting pot for diverse ancient societies, such as Greek, Roman, and Egyptian civilizations, all of which significantly influenced today's world. The newly introduced Mediterranean Archaeology certificate program allows students to explore this ancient region while gaining analytical insights into the archaeological remains of numerous cultures that thrived along its shores from prehistoric times through the Roman Empire's decline. This program leverages the extensive research capabilities and instructional knowledge within the Classics Department, as well as the Anthropology Department, utilizing special collections like the Burnam Classical Library and the antiquities held by Classics. Additionally, it provides chances for partnerships with institutions including Hebrew Union College, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and the Cincinnati Museum Center.
