The environmental design program offers an interdisciplinary BA/BS degree that develops visual and spatial design abilities within the framework of ecological sustainability. This pioneering program, unique to both the College of Design and the West Coast region, integrates studies from architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, urban planning, public policy, fine arts, industrial design, heritage conservation, and other related fields.
Global challenges like climate change significantly influence urban development, human societies, and natural ecosystems worldwide. The curriculum features five specialized pathways: landscape design, design technology, resilience and advocacy, sustainable construction, and urban sustainability. These concentrations equip future designers, researchers, and activists with the tools to address pressing environmental issues.
