The Sustainable Environmental Design program acknowledges the swift expansion of sustainability science as an emerging, interdisciplinary field. With increasing global urbanization, creating resilient, efficient, healthy, and equitable cities and metropolitan areas is critically important. The College of Environmental Design, renowned for its expertise in sustainable urban planning and design, provides the perfect environment for an undergraduate program focused on sustainable environmental design, particularly concerning the built environment.
This program gives students a deep awareness of sustainability issues affecting urban areas in California and worldwide while providing them with essential technical, analytical, and design skills to develop innovative solutions. Graduates can pursue diverse career opportunities and advanced studies. Upon completing this program, students will:
Grasp how physical, biological, and social sciences apply to designing sustainable cities and metropolitan regions.
Learn about sustainable urban technologies and design approaches.
Understand equity and social justice concerns in relation to sustainable urban and regional development.
Assess and track the current state and future possibilities of built environments regarding sustainability.
Recognize how policies and institutions influence the development of future sustainable cities and regions.
To be considered for admission to UC Berkeley, international applicants must:
finish secondary school and
earn a certificate of completion, which allows admission to a university in their home country or country of graduation
The university requires further study, either completion of the two-year A-level program with a minimum of three academic exams, the IB diploma program, or another similar academic curriculum.
For (IBT) minimum score of 80 or better, Paper-based test (completed prior to Oct. 2017): Minimum score of 550 or better, Revised paper-delivered test (completed Oct. 2017 or later): Minimum score of 60 or better, (IELTS) Accepted with a 6.5 or better band score (academic modules)
