The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design serves as foundational training for the Master of Landscape Architecture program. Candidates first earn their Bachelor's degree in Environmental Design, with strong academic performance enabling progression into the graduate landscape architecture program. Most students complete both their undergraduate studies and professional master's degree within five years. As defined by the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), this field encompasses the planning, design, management, and stewardship of both constructed and natural spaces. Landscape architects apply their specialized expertise to enhance ecological and community wellbeing, creating public spaces like parks, university campuses, urban streets, walking paths, public squares, residential areas, and other projects that foster stronger communities.
