The environmental design program offers an interdisciplinary BA/BS degree that develops visual and spatial design abilities within the framework of ecological sustainability. This innovative program, pioneering in both the College of Design and the western U.S., integrates studies from architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, urban planning, public policy, fine arts, industrial design, heritage conservation, and additional fields.
Global challenges like climate change significantly influence urban development, human societies, and natural ecosystems worldwide. The curriculum features five concentration areas: landscape planning, design innovation, community resilience, green construction, and sustainable cities - equipping future designers, researchers, and activists with the tools to address pressing environmental issues.
