Our photography program focuses on conceptual thinking and contextual understanding, with process serving as a pathway to creative outcomes. To broaden students' exploration of photographic possibilities, we provide varied courses including Film & Darkroom, Large Format, The Photographic Book (Digital Photography II), Alternative Processes, Conceptual Strategies, Constructed Image, and Advanced Photography - all integrated with contemporary critical theory. The curriculum balances digital and analog technical training while fostering critical analysis and writing abilities.
Undergraduates build technical and theoretical foundations through structured coursework, preparing for specialized study in their chosen photographic path. The BFA program supports advanced project-based photography work while promoting cross-media exploration, bridging undergraduate and graduate studies. At the graduate level, we embrace diverse creative approaches, enabling students to develop their unique artistic vision through suitable ideas and methodologies.
