The University of North Texas offers one of the country's most extensive and varied graduate Composition programs, featuring 70 student composers and six faculty members who embody diverse creative philosophies. Our distinguished faculty have earned global recognition for their acoustic, electroacoustic, and multimedia works through prestigious awards, grants, commissions, and international performances. The program enhances learning through frequent visits by guest composers and new music experts, along with numerous annual events.
As a cornerstone of the local arts scene, the college hosts over 1,000 concerts each year. Its state-of-the-art facilities include 300+ practice rooms, seven concert venues, multiple classrooms and rehearsal spaces, and specialized computer labs. The student-run Composers Forum actively promotes new works, organizing performances both on campus and beyond.
