The Pediatric Dentistry Graduate Program is a three-year course offering both a certificate and a degree. This program has a proven history of integrating curricula with other fields like public health and basic sciences. Students can customize dual or combined programs to pursue a non-dental master's degree, postdoctoral fellowship, dental scientist award, or doctoral degree. Popular degree choices include the Master of Science in Dentistry, Master of Public Health, and PhD. A certificate-only pathway is not available.

All graduate students undertake multiple experiences designed to enhance their scholarly abilities and formal research skills.

Clinical training forms a vital component of the Pediatric Dentistry Graduate Program. Students gain hands-on experience at various locations, including the Adams School of Dentistry, UNC Hospitals, Durham County Health Department, Alamance County Health Department, Gateway Educational Center, and IHS Cherokee Indian Hospital.

Our program's primary goal is to equip graduates for leadership positions in professional communities, academic institutions, or government agencies. Particular attention is given to attracting and nurturing individuals who will tackle future oral health challenges for children.
