The DDS/MBA dual degree is a collaborative initiative between NYU's College of Dentistry and Stern School of Business. Modern dental professionals face growing expectations to balance clinical expertise with business acumen, and this program prepares graduates with essential management skills for today's healthcare landscape.
Although completing a DDS and MBA separately would normally take six years, this combined program condenses the curriculum into five years. Participants dedicate their initial two years exclusively to dental studies, then split the remaining three years between dental training and business education.
DDS/MBA candidates start with intensive dental coursework for their first two years. In year three, they begin Stern's core MBA curriculum while maintaining eight weekly hours of clinical training. The final two years offer a adaptable schedule where students complete remaining requirements from both programs, adjusting clinical rotations to accommodate business course availability.
