The Earth and Marine Sciences graduate program offers customized academic and research training, equipping students for diverse professional paths in earth, ocean, environmental sciences, and allied disciplines. The program provides both Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree options. It focuses on workforce readiness and research advancement by cultivating critical skills, interdisciplinary scientific knowledge, and expertise in chosen specialties. Each student's academic journey is guided by a faculty committee led by their primary advisor.
Students also enroll in advanced courses aligned with their specialization. The program offers concentration options in geology, marine sciences, or biological sciences/ecology.
Every graduate student undertakes either a thesis (M.S.) or dissertation (Ph.D.) project. This research component allows them to hone specialized capabilities and address core scientific challenges within their discipline.
