Our juris doctor program emphasizes practical learning, with courses led by distinguished faculty members—most of whom bring significant professional experience—alongside hands-on legal clinics and an expansive externship initiative that delivers authentic, experiential training. Eligible students may participate in the innovative Daniel Webster Scholar program, the nation's sole competency-based alternative to traditional bar exams. Participants develop their expertise through realistic simulations and actual legal work (including client consultations, attorney collaborations, deposition taking, court appearances, and mediation), compiling comprehensive portfolios each semester for bar examiner review. Graduates of the DWS program are admitted to the New Hampshire Bar prior to commencement, enabling them to begin practicing law immediately after receiving their degrees.
