Case Western Reserve University School of Law places social justice at the core of its mission. Our initiatives focus on transforming the local bail system, reshaping urban policing policies, pursuing international war crime prosecutions, investigating wrongful convictions through the Innocence Project, combating human trafficking, and tackling lead contamination issues affecting our community and country. Students gain practical experience while advocating for justice through our clinics, labs, and special projects. Across our ten legal clinics, students handle diverse cases - from preparing criminal appeals and representing civil rights plaintiffs to arguing asylum claims and assisting human trafficking survivors. They engage in environmental impact litigation and offer legal guidance to local organizations. In our specialized labs, students address capital punishment cases, reproductive rights matters, human trafficking victim support, and war crimes tribunal assistance. Through the Yemen Accountability Project, first-year law students compile evidence and reports for potential war crime prosecutions related to Yemen's conflict.
