In 2022, the nutrition program marked its centennial anniversary of graduates, honoring this achievement with year-long celebrations and alumni spotlights. Nutrition science examines how food impacts human wellbeing. At UNH, undergraduate nutrition majors can select from three concentrations: dietetics for aspiring registered dietitians, nutrition and wellness for careers in community health or fitness industries, and nutritional sciences for graduate studies in medical fields or scientific research positions.
UNH's nutrition curriculum creates diverse career possibilities while giving students thorough knowledge about food's role in metabolism, nutrient absorption, and overall wellness. The program emphasizes practical experience through research projects and internships. Through the UNH-in-Italy initiative, students can immerse themselves in Ascoli Piceno's historic setting while taking courses that examine food traditions, eco-friendly farming practices, and current challenges in global food systems.
Each student must have their official high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.
