The UNLV MS in Nutrition Sciences program aims to equip graduates with the expertise and confidence needed to excel as nutrition and dietetics professionals across diverse environments including clinical, community, food service, and management contexts. Our evidence-based curriculum bridges academic knowledge with real-world professional application.

Program Objectives
Educational experiences will:

Equip students to work effectively with diverse patient populations across multiple healthcare environments.
Train students in applying the Nutrition Care Process to individuals from varied cultural backgrounds.
Employ diverse teaching methodologies (including clinical observations, simulation exercises, practical applications, case studies, online learning, and laboratory work).
Foster professional development by teaching ethical standards and creating pathways for students to give back to the field through mentorship and clinical instruction roles.

Qualification Requirements

All applicants must have a minimum overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.75 (A=4.0), or 3.00 (A=4.0) in the last two years. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is optional but may be used by the student toward admission (as evidence of quantitative abilities, and/or evidence of verbal abilities)

Transcripts - One transcript from every post-secondary institution the applicant has attended (regardless of whether a degree or credential was earned), showing all coursework, extension and correspondence work, any degrees earned, and the dates that those degrees were awarded. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted as part of the application process. However, if an applicant is admitted, official transcripts will be required by the date specified on the Certificate of Admission. Transfer credits posted on another institution's transcript will not be accepted in lieu of the transcript itself. Only transcripts sent directly from the institution are considered official. Failure to disclose all coursework and/or degrees awarded will result in rescission of admission.
