The Biochemistry Program is a collaborative initiative between the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Division of Biological Sciences. As an interdisciplinary field, biochemistry combines chemical and biological principles to explore life's molecular foundations. Students can pursue a B.S. in Biochemistry, a B.S. in Computational Biochemistry, or advanced M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biochemistry & Biophysics. The program holds accreditation from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB).
Additionally, the program provides a B.S. in Computational Biochemistry. This curriculum blends core and specialized coursework in chemistry, biology, computer science, and biochemistry, equipping students for careers in computation-driven areas such as bioinformatics, molecular modeling, and structure-based drug design.
