The Bachelor of Science in Special Education (BS/SE) program equips students to work with individuals who have common (high incidence) disabilities. This curriculum focuses on core special education principles, proven intervention techniques, and a problem-solving teaching methodology. The BS/SE undergraduate program upholds the standards of a nationally respected, research-driven degree. Designed to cultivate scientist-practitioners, it highlights current advancements in educational research and emphasizes data-driven teaching choices to help students with special needs achieve their maximum capabilities.
Student are required to have a high school graduation
A GPA above 2.0 is preferred for the following: 2.75 already admitted to the degree-granting college; 2.75 transferring from another University of Minnesota college; 2.75 transferring from outside the University
English Language Proficiency Requirements: TOEFL iBT – 79; IELTS Academic – 6.5; Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE Academic) – 59; Cambridge Assessment English (CAE) C1 Advanced – 180.
Application Deadline for Fall: For freshmen international students the deadlines are November 1 (early action 1 deadline), December 1 (early action 2 deadline) and January 1 (regular deadline)
