The Molecular and Cellular Pathology (MCP) Graduate Program aims to educate future "Bench to Bedside" researchers, specializing in understanding the cellular and molecular processes that drive human diseases. Established in 1992, the MCP program operates within the Department of Pathology, leveraging its distinctive role connecting fundamental and clinical research to foster cross-disciplinary initiatives and collaboration across departments. With over 180 faculty members spanning basic scientists, physician-researchers, and medical practitioners, the department offers a rich academic environment. Ranked 9th nationally for NIH funding, this supportive and cooperative setting enables the program's roughly 30 students to conduct groundbreaking research spanning fundamental discoveries to clinical applications.
Although there is no required minimum GPA, entering students have an average GPA of 3.5 (range 2.8-4.0).
