The Movement Science (MVS) program equips students for various healthcare careers, including medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, rehabilitation, and biomedical research. The program combines classroom instruction, lab research, and practical experiences centered on human movement mechanics, control, and physiology. MVS highlights three key areas: Biomechanics uses mechanical principles to analyze human motion, providing excellent groundwork for advanced studies in prosthetics, ergonomics, rehabilitation medicine, or physical therapy. Exercise Physiology explores how the body's metabolic, hormonal, and cardiovascular systems respond to both short-term and sustained physical activity, preparing graduates for healthcare roles or further study in related fields. Motor Control investigates how neural processes, behavioral patterns, and cognitive factors influence movement learning and coordination throughout life, with applications in therapy professions and other medical specialties.
