Cardiac Catheterization Technologists collaborate with doctors to identify and manage heart and vascular conditions through X-ray imaging. These professionals specialize in imaging while also receiving training to serve as surgical assistants and support staff during cardiac and vascular catheterization processes. Their responsibilities involve evaluating and monitoring patients during invasive procedures, maintaining sterile conditions to aid physicians, administering medications as directed, operating specialized equipment and imaging systems, and maintaining detailed records of procedural events. These experts receive instruction in invasive diagnostic techniques for heart and vascular catheterization, interventional cardiac and vascular treatments, emergency heart care, structural heart repairs, and invasive cardiac electrophysiology studies.

Qualification Requirements

To be eligible for admission to an associate degree program at HCC, applicants must submit documentation that they have the equivalent of one of the following:

high school equivalency certificate (GED)
Associate or higher degree
standard high school diploma
High School

Official High School or GED and ALL post-secondary transcripts are required. HCC transcript is not required.
Minimum prerequisite GPA of 2.8.
IELTS academic overall band score of 5.5 or higher
TOEFL score of 61 (iBT) or higher.
