The Bachelor of Arts in American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf Studies provides a comprehensive foundation, immersing students in ASL while exploring Deaf culture and core communication principles. This program equips graduates to become strong advocates for both ASL and Deaf communities. Rooted in liberal arts education, the curriculum features progressive language instruction alongside studies in Deaf cultural studies, ASL linguistics, advocacy work, and introductory courses covering Deaf education, interpretation, and ASL applications in healthcare fields like audiology and speech pathology. The dual focus on language proficiency and cultural understanding creates versatile career opportunities in public-facing roles.

Upon completing this program, graduates will: (a) achieve practical ASL fluency across diverse situations; (b) comprehend Deaf historical and cultural contexts; (c) grasp essential communication science concepts; and (d) champion individuals with communication variations. This degree serves as excellent preparation for further specialization in education, interpretation, advocacy, healthcare fields, hospitality management, or administrative roles. The BA in ASL and Deaf Studies functions effectively as either an independent degree or a complementary credential for careers in performing arts, teaching, nursing, medical sciences, or service industries.
