The French program provides a rigorous and rewarding journey for students passionate about both the French language and the diverse cultures of French-speaking communities worldwide. As one of the globe's most spoken languages, French holds sixth place following Mandarin Chinese, English, Hindi, Spanish, and Arabic. Currently, over 220 million individuals communicate in French across continents: approximately 51% reside in Africa and the Middle East, 40% in Europe, 8% in the Americas, and 1% in Asia/Oceania. Demographic projections suggest French speakers will exceed 700 million by 2050, with Africa accounting for 80% of this growth. Our program serves as a gateway to this vibrant, expanding Francophone universe. All advanced courses (excluding MLL 325) are taught entirely in French, with students expected to demonstrate proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing.

You are considered a freshman applicant if you will have a high school diploma or GED and have not enrolled at any college or university beyond the summer immediately following your high school graduation.

Complete a secondary/high school curriculum that totals 12 years of primary-secondary education, be qualified to enter a university in your home country and have a good scholastic record from an accredited/recognized school.
