The Global Studies Ph.D. Program provides an advanced interdisciplinary curriculum, allowing students to collaborate with diverse faculty engaged in pioneering research while joining a vibrant international community dedicated to addressing global challenges.
This interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Global Studies is housed within the College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, overseen by the Political Science Department, with faculty contributions spanning multiple disciplines such as Criminal Justice, Economics, Education, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.
UMass Lowell's Global Studies Ph.D. program features three specialized concentrations tailored to students' research focus areas.
Conflict, Cooperation, Security and Human Rights: examines diverse threats to peace and human security in contemporary society, from conventional conflicts to underground economies.
