The Bachelor of Arts in German Studies provides a comprehensive curriculum exploring the German-speaking world from medieval times to today. As you enhance your German language skills, you'll cultivate the ability to analyze and discuss diverse cultural, historical, and political topics through engagement with various media forms - including literature, cinema, visual arts, and musical works. We highly recommend students consider studying abroad in Germany for a semester or academic year to deepen their expertise. The program features adaptable requirements, enabling students to combine it with another major or minor. STEM students can opt for a dual major in STEM-German, while linguistics enthusiasts can pursue an interdisciplinary German-linguistics degree. Currently, we don't provide a Scandinavian studies focus. Our alumni have established careers in education, diplomatic services, financial sectors, technology industries, media relations, editorial work, language services, news reporting, global communications, cultural institutions, broadcasting, and have pursued advanced degrees both domestically and internationally.
