Animation draws from the principles and creative techniques of animation, film, motion graphics, gaming, and technology. Learners explore animation as creators, engaging in hands-on production courses using both traditional and digital methods, while examining animation's history and viewing works by modern animators. Within the Animation curriculum, students are urged to cultivate their unique artistic perspective by experimenting with various media and critically assessing their creations. Peer critiques of individual projects play a key role in helping students establish a foundation for their artistic journey in animation. Higher-level animation courses involve technically demanding work in 2D and 3D digital formats, manual techniques, interactive media, blended approaches, and innovative developments in the field. Those completing the program have the chance to create a polished final project, either independently or collaboratively, as a capstone to their studies.
