The clinical psychology doctoral program equips students to earn a Ph.D. while developing careers that blend research with clinical work. Accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), this program follows the scientist-practitioner training model. While cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavior therapy, and similar approaches feature prominently among faculty and student interests, the program remains open to diverse perspectives. Alongside clinical psychology, the Psychology Department provides graduate-level courses and research guidance across psychological science domains, including biological-cognitive, social, and developmental areas. Operating within a generalist structure, the clinical program prepares students to treat clients of all ages while offering specialized tracks in child clinical psychology and clinical neuropsychology. Although no standalone Master's exists for clinical psychology, students receive an M.A. en route to their Ph.D. Through collaboration between full-time faculty and off-site supervisors, trainees gain comprehensive skills in psychological evaluation, therapeutic interventions, and consultation. Our location provides unique opportunities to address the mental health requirements of rural communities.
