The University of Kentucky's two-year MFA in Creative Writing, offered through the English department, equips students with essential skills across poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Nestled in historic Lexington amid legendary horse farms and bourbon country, the university boasts a distinguished literary tradition that began in 1947 when Pulitzer Prize-winner A.B. Guthrie first taught fiction writing. This interdisciplinary two-year program blends studio practice with academic research, equally prioritizing students' creative development and their engagement with literary scholarship.
