MFA candidates receive thorough instruction in both theory and practice across multiple disciplines - from fiction and poetry to creative nonfiction, editing, and publishing. Each student produces a thesis project, which may be a poetry collection, short story compilation, essay series, novel, or memoir.

Our MFA program fosters a close-knit, encouraging community led by an accomplished faculty of published authors. Students gain publishing opportunities in respected literary journals and benefit from guidance by renowned writers through our Distinguished Visiting Writers Program.
